New Year's Eve

 

It was a gorgeous day in New York today - sunny, mild and in the 50s! Jasper and I have been feeling couped up lately so we were excited to have a chance to run around outside. In the morning, we visited the farmers market and took a stroll through Prospect Park. In the afternoon, we decided to take a trip to Dumbo and take a whirl on the carousel - a perfect way to end the year, don't ya think? What are you doing to celebrate New Year's Eve? We're going to sleep. Happy New Year!

Christmas Day

Finally, Christmas Day!! You may remember that on Christmas Eve, I left a note and some treats for Santa and his reindeer. As you can imagine, the first thing that I did when I woke up was stumble out of bed and into the kitchen to see if Santa enjoyed his snack. He did!!

And he left presents for us under the tree too!

Everett and I couldn't wait to open our gifts from Santa. He also brought over some gifts from Ah-Boo and Coufou and Couma. He must have picked them up in California on his way to New York. Everett received a Lightening McQueen suitcase from Santa and a big red Clifford from Ah-Boo.

I guess that Santa thinks that Mommy should learn Mandarin too!

As for me, I received a giant Lego airport set from Santa. Mommy was nice enough to help me put it together.

Then, we packed up the car and made the trip down to New Jersey to visit Babcia and Dziadek for Christmas #2 where we got...more presents! Can you guess which one was Everett's favorite?

Thank you everyone for all of our wonderful presents. Thank you Santa for bringing some our presents to Babcia and Dziadek's house and for making our Christmas wishes come true!

Christmas Stockings

On Christmas Eve, Jasper and I also got to open our stockings. They've been hanging on our front door for the past couple of week but when we woke up in the morning, they were filled with gifts! Here we are waiting patiently for Mommy and Daddy to tell us it was time to dig into our stockings.

It's time! As you can see, Jasper and I both have a Julius/Coufou stocking. For those of you who may not know, in our house, we refer to the Paul Frank character Julius as Coufou in honor of our real Coufou. Well, it wasn't always that way, You see, the knit red-blue-white Julius/Coufou stocking was always Jasper's but this year, I declared that it was mine. And I was pretty adamant about it. Mommy and Daddy didn't know what to do. They scoured the internet looking for another Julius/Coufou stocking but couldn't find one. Mommy even asked Ah-Boo to visit the Paul Frank store in San Francisco but she couldn't find one either. Lucky for me, Ah-Boo is pretty crafty and she made me a one-of-a-kind stocking! Thank you Ah-Boo!!

We got lots of fun presents like stickers and silly bandz and jibbitz for our Crocs. Jasper also received a set of SEPTA trains and I received a new set of green handballs!! Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Christmas Eve in New Jersey

No, not that New Jersey. On Christmas Eve, my K-Yeh Arthur invited us all to his house in New Jersey for a big feast and celebration. All the Yee-Paus came along with Dee Biu Coufou, Phyllis Biu Yee, Jeff Biu Yee Jurn, cousin Nathan and cousin Carys. It was the first time that we visited his house and we were excited to check it out. Luckily for me and Jasper, it was quite spacious i.e. lots of room for two little boys to run around and be a little crazy. First, I had to get myself acquainted by sharing some stickers with K-Yeh.

Then, it was the main event - presents!! I got a big Wilson carrying case to carry my growing collection of Chuggington trains. Jasper received the MTA articulated bus that he has been eying for months

 

Jasper also received a new game from 6 Yee Pau and 6 Yee Kung - Scramble. 6 Yee Pau was eager to play with Jasper.

 

First, she teamed with 5 Yee Pau and they lost to Jasper and Everett! It was quite an exciting match up as they each raced to match each piece to its correct place on the board. Anxiety inducing all around.

Christmas is exhausting!

Well, we've had a great Christmas season so far - everything leading up to Christmas, Christmas Eve, and now Christmas Day itself. But, oh boy, opening all those gifts and then playing with them is exhausting! Everett went to bed long ago, and Niunia and I aren't in much better shape as you can see...

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well, and that Santa was as good to you as he was to us. We'll have to catch up the blog on all our Christmas festivities tomorrow, once we're good and rested.

Christmas Eve

Remember how Santa told me to leave out a cookie and a glass of milk for him and some carrots for his reindeer? Well, I didn't forget. Before I went to bed tonight, Mommy and I laid out a nice spread for him to enjoy. I imagine that he works up quite an appetite with all that running around delivering presents. I hope he enjoys it. Also, I left Santa a note asking him to please bring some of my presents to Babcia and Dziadek's house since we will be spending Christmas day there. Since I wasn't sure he knew where Babcia and Dziadek live, I left him some directions too...just in case.

Merry Christmas everyone! Happy Birthday Keira! Now we're the same age again!

Christmas with K-Ma Tracy and Auntie Alison

As many of you know, we have a special Christmas tradition with K-Ma Tracy and Auntie Alison where we bake Christmas cookies, have a nice Christmas dinner together (sometimes at home, sometimes out at a restaurant) and then open presents together. See here, here, here and here. This year, we had to change things up a little bit. This year, we had to separate the cookie baking from the Christmas dinner/presents portion of the day. I think that it was getting a little too hectic for everyone as us little people are getting older. A few days ago, we baked cookies and on Thursday night we had Christmas dinner and presents! As you can see, Jasper, Juno and I couldn't wait to dig into all the presents under the tree.

We were very civilized when opening our presents and got so many great gifts. We got a Star Wars Advent Calendar, bouncy balls, Mater for me, American Airlines plane for Jasper, a Missoni ruana for Juno and lots of gnomes for everyone. The best was that K-Ma Tracy and Auntie Alison adopted an animal in each of our names - a Monarch Butterfly for Jasper, a sea turtle for Juno and a Puffin for me!

 

 

 

The one gift I wasn't too sure about was the angry birds hat...

 

After we unwrapped everything, Jasper piled all the wrapping paper into one corner. It all looked so pretty, but also irresistible. Juno and I couldn't help but jump right into the pile! But I couldn't seem to escape that angry bird! I even jumped into the pile with me!!!

SANTA!

So yes, Jasper and I have had a few medical incidents lately but we've still be two good boys (mostly) and couldn't wait for our chance to meet with Santa. Bright and early this morning, we bundled up and made our way to Santaland on 34th Street where Santa was camping out for a few days so that he could meet with all the little boys and girls that live in New York City. First, we had to take the Polar Express to get to Santaland. As usual, I was a bit skeptical about this whole endeavor.

 However, Jasper and Juno were a bit more excited, remembering their visits to Santaland in years past. See here and here.

Once we arrived in Santaland, it was beautiful. Truly a winter wonderland with polar bears and penguins and dancing bears and trains and snowmen and elves. I may or may not have tried to grab a penguin's nose...

 

Auntie Laura came with us to visit Santa too. I was her first trip to Santaland.

Once we got to Santa's house, we all got ready for our big moment with the jolly fellow. Jasper decided that Juno should go first. She told him that she was a good girl and that she would like a sheep and a cow for Christmas.

Next up was Jasper. He also did a very good job and asked Santa for an airplane set and a Chuggington set. Santa said that he would do his best to get those things for him. Santa also asked for a present for himself on Christmas! He asked Jasper to leave out a cookie on a plate with a glass of milk for him and a carrot for his reindeer. I didn't know that Santa could request gifts too.

Then it was my turn. Up until a few weeks ago, I wasn't keen on the idea of visiting Santa. Then I figured out that Santa somehow had something to do with presents so I warmed up to the idea. I have been practicing what I wanted to say to him - I want cars and trucks and balls and a Cars umbrella and a suitcase. But I got a little shy when it was my turn and didn't really tell him my wish for Christmas. But I think that he knows. I think that he's been listening to me all these weeks.

We all did pretty well, right? After our visit, we had a quick snack and then headed outside to look at the pretty Macy's window displays.

 

 

Then we crossed the street, hopped on the bus and headed up to Rockefeller Center to see the big Christmas tree. It was so big! I have never seen a tree that tall! Auntie Alison even took a quick break from work and surprised us with a quick visit.

 

 

Lastly, we visited the huge Lego store where they had a replica of Rockefeller Center made out of legos! There were a lot of other cool stuff in the store too that each of us wanted to get our hands on so we had to be ushered out of the store by Mommy and Daddy after a short while.

Phew. What a fun and exhausting day! BTW - in case you missed it, Juno did a nice recap of the rest of our weekend which included a visit from our little cousins and family members on Mommy's side.
