Everett's Visitors

Over the past two weeks, Everett has had lots of visitors - both family and friends - stop by to welcome him into the world and cuddle with him. He got to meet Ciocia Olga who couldn't wait to hold the little one.

He also got to meet 6 Yee Pau and 6 Yee Kung. Everett looked as confused as me as to the multitude of Yee-Paus! Neither of us can keep them all straight!

He also got to meet Auntie Shii Ann - Beatrice's mom. Auntie Shii Ann also had a little baby boy named Desmond about two months ago. Maybe he and Everett can be good friends from birth the way that Beatrice and are have been good friends since we were a couple of weeks old.

Last week, Patricia and her friend Chiji stopped by to say hello to Everett.

And today, Auntie Kelly came to wish Everett well. And she brought presents for BOTH of us! I think that we need more visitors like Auntie Kelly around the house.

Keep the visits coming!

Happy Hour

Yesterday afternoon, we went out to a local joint for some refreshments. Truly, they know their clientele because they booked a kid's band during happy hour. That meant that I could have a special juice (none of that watered down stuff that Mommy gives me) and cereal bar while Daddy got to have a beer (or two).

All the while, we were listening to some good tunes from Niko's Kids. At first, I was a little shy showing off my dance moves but soon enough, I was swaying to the music.

Even Everett seemed to enjoy the songs, guitar and drums. I think that he was trying to dance too!

Before we left, we had a little family cuddle time on Mommy's lap. I really like holding my baby brother and ask Mommy if I can at every chance. I think that I'm getting the hang of it.

First Family Dinner Out

Last night, we went out for our first family dinner - just me, Everett, Mommy and Daddy. We had a nice quiet dinner at Park Slope Ale House, just a couple of blocks away from our house. Daddy was happy because there were lots of beer on tap, Mommy was happy because she got to eat sweet potato fries, and I was happy because I got to eat Mac & Cheese.

Getting to Know You

Everett is now 9 days old. Over the past week, I've been spending time observing him and getting to know him as well as helping out. We spent some quality time together in my crib. Don't worry - I'm not squeezing him too hard. He's just naturally that red sometimes.

I've also been helping Mommy and Daddy. I watched them change his diaper so that I can do it in the future. Look how little the diapers are!

This morning, I went with Daddy to storage to dig out all my old baby toys. Here Everett - a little bunny and teething rattle for me! Maybe this way he won't try to steal my bunny.

We set up the activity mat for Everett this morning. I wonder if he'll become good friends with parrot, elephant and giraffe like me.

I even got to hold Everett on my own (with appropriate adult supervision, of course). It's kind of fun having a little brother!

Would you offer a beer to an alcoholic?

No? Then, people, why are you doing this to me???!!! I believe my fondness for choo-choos has been well documented, but must we feed the obsession?

Let me give you some examples of the gifts I've received from you all in just the past few weeks. First, Daddy came back from his work trip to London with this little Brio choo-choo that goes on its own...

Then Ah-Boo gets me a great big bridge to go with all my tracks...

When I went to visit Babcia and Dziadek in South Jersey a week ago, Ciocia Olga was waiting for me with a whole set of vintage NYC subway cars...

Auntie Allison recently gave me a Thomas the Tank Engine portable set...

And then she and Auntie Tracy added to it with another portable set that connects to the first one I got!

And just a couple of days ago, Dee Biu Coufou came to visit and gave me this super-cool Thomas boat to play with during my baths...

And finally, believe it or not, my little brother Everett came home from the hospital with a gift for me - a N subway choo-choo to go with the F subway choo-choo I already had

Now, I'm just a little two year old boy. I'm counting on all you adults out there to help me set some limits with regard to my obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Please??

It's been 4 days...

and Everett is still here. Hmmmm, I guess he's really staying? Since that seems to be the case, I decided to have a closer look at my little brother.

Look! He has a nose just like mine, just a little smaller.

He even gets his own room in the house but he's not staying there just yet. He gets to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room for now. But he's already amassed quite a collection of stuffed animals in his room.

I guess he is kind of cute. OK, I'll keep him.

Everett's Visitors

Since Everett is only 3 days old and has been busy sleeping the last couple of days, I'll tell you all about the people who have come to see me and bring me presents...ur...I mean him. His first visitor was Ah-Boo who arrived at the hospital about 20 minutes after he was born. She was very excited to meet her new grandson.

The next day, the entire Wang family came to visit. Everett met Desmond Kung-Kung (in the plaid shirt) and Josephine Pau-Pau...

Auntie Alison...

and his K-Ma (aka Godmother), Auntie Tracy! She was in town to do the Great Urban Race on Saturday. BTW - She and her friend Jeanne finished 31st out of 300+ teams!

When Everett arrived home from the hospital, Babcia and Dziadek were waiting to meet and greet him.

And then today, 4 Yee Pau, 5 Yee Pau and Dee Biu Coufou came by to bring us all dinner and to say hello. Sorry there's no picture of Dee Biu Coufou but he was worried about holding Everett. No head control, you know?

And, today is Ah-Boo's birthday!! Happy Birthday Ah-Boo! Everett and I are so happy that you are here visiting with us.

Welcome Home Everett!!

Yesterday afternoon, Mommy and Daddy came home from the hospital with Everett! I have been anticipating this moment for months now. I got to help bring my little brother into the house and get him settled.

Isn't he cute? He's so small. I had a present ready for him - a bunny kind of like my bunny!

And guess what? Everett had a present for me too! A N choo-choo train and a choo-choo train ABC puzzle book! Which, by the way, combines three of my favorite things - choo-choos, puzzles and ABCs! Maybe he won't be so bad afterall.

After all the excitement of being born, leaving the hospital and coming home, Everett was a little tuckered out. Here he is sleeping in his new bed - the same Moses basket I had when I was a baby.

Oh, I've also received a couple of questions about where I was when Everett was born. Well, let's just say I was getting in some quality time in the water in NJ...
