Aloha

It's finally vacation time! We're in Hawaii and enjoying the sun and sand and surf so much so that we wanted to share pictures with you all. I know, it's been a while. The thing is is that if we are going to share pictures, there isn't going to be much commentary. I think that the pictures speak for themselves.

Here are some snapshot from our little home on a lagoon and from our adventures on the North Shore on Tuesday.

Stir crazy boys

What do you think happens when two little boys are cooped up in the house for too long? I think that Daddy was finally done with all of our antics and obstacle courses. What do you think that we did when we finally got outside?

Mommy put together this cool video on her blog so go over and watch it. We also got some cool Reebok sneakers to test out too!

PS - What's up with the snow??

Down time...

We had a LOT of activities while in Montauk, as you saw, which made for very tired boys - and which led to a whole lot of this in between the activities...

All the better to rest up for the next round of fun :-)

Hope everyone had a great Summer - we're already looking forward to the next one!

Double cut

It seems like it's been getting hotter and hotter out, and more and more humid, and Mommy kept complaining about how much mine and Jasper's shaggy heads of hair keep sweating in this weather. But, as luck would have it, a brand new kids haircut place opened just around the block from our house, so today we decided to check it out.

This new place is called Area Kicks and Cuts, and it not only does haircuts, but also carries a wide selection of kids shoes - and toys. And it's a good thing, too, because there was a bit of a wait when we got there, but were luckily able to amuse ourselves, first watching fishies swim around in the aquarium -

And then putting on a monster finger puppet show (with finger puppets we found in buckets around the store...)

But after a while we ran out of things to do and needed to take a break.

Luckily, before long it was our turn - Jasper went first.

While I watched the TV over his shoulder from the big chair.

Then, it was my turn -

Before long, we were done, and here are the results -

What do you think? We liked the results so much that we even shared our post-haircut lollipops with each other!

I'm a Triceratops Pinata

OK, admittedly, Everett and I had a lot of fun at his birthday party over the weekend. In particular, we really enjoyed the pinata so we've devised a little game for ourselves. One of us will declare that we are a triceratops pinata and the other will go chasing after, trying to knock them open. Oh, and that thing that we're doing on the living room floor with the pillows? We're making pudding. Yeah, don't ask.

Have we mentioned the "Summer of Water" lately?

Because it definitely continued in Mystic...

Mommy and Daddy were clever enough to book a hotel with an indoor pool (all the better for that one rainy day we had), and as you can imagine, we spent a considerable portion of our vacation in that pool...

And then warming up in the hottub between our marathon pool diving sessions...

And when the sun came out, The Dinosaur Place that we told you about wasn't all dinosaurs - it was also a waterpark! Now, we love all the new waterparks we have around our house in Brooklyn, but this one was a notch above all the others. We were excited from the moment we saw it!

And spent the rest of our time at The Dinosaur Place taking advantage of just about every water feature available...

How much more time can we possibly spend in and around water this Summer?!

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs and more dinosaurs

So once the sun came out in Mystic, we headed to a great place right outside of town - The Dinosaur Place. Much like Jurassic Park, The Dinosaur Place is a ancient looking lanscape populated by some of the most fearsome dinosaurs who ever roamed the earth.

Can you imagine how excited Jasper and I were to see them all?!

While there were lots of crying kids all around the park who were scared of the dinosaurs, Jasper and I knew that the dinosaurs are our friends, and didn't even hesitate to walk right up to them...

And get up and close with each one...

Can you guess which was my favorite dinosaur of the day?

Although there was one that wanted to bite Jasper, and I had to beat him off with my rolled-up map. Go away, bad dinosaur!

And look, the first two dinosaur eggs have hatched!

We even watched a volcano erupting, although its loud rumbling may have been the scariest part...

At the end of the dinosaur trail there was a "Maze-asaurus", a great, though pretty complicated, maze.

Eventually we negotiated the maze, though, and here's what we found at the end - talk about scary!

But that didn't deter us, since as you might notice, the dinosaur's throat is actually a slide, and who can resist a slide inside a dinosaur?!

Wheeee!

What a fun day at The Dinosaur Place!

So much fun that even Mommy and Daddy got in on the act!
