Christmas

Since Everett and I have been a little delinquent on blogging lately, here's another catch-up Christmas post. You already know that we went over the Audrey and DJ's house to play on Christmas Eve Day and made a big mess in her room...

And then later that evening, we celebrated Keira's 3rd birthday at Ah-Boo's house.

And then on Christmas Day itself, we went over to Keira and Zachary's house for brunch and gifts and general mischief. Everett's stocking seems to sum it up nicely. It actually says "Naughty" but you can't see the "Y"

Baby Zachary was smart and stayed away from all of his crazy cousins and crazy sister. He watched with wide eyes as he tried to process just what exactly he has been born into.

We tried to take a nice picture of all the grandkids with Ah-Boo, but Everett didn't seem to want to cooperate.

San Francisco Public Library

One of the first things we did when we arrived in San Francisco was head over to the main public library to pick up some books for the next two weeks. The outing at first seemed like it was custom designed for Jasper, starting with the Muni choo-choo ride to the library. We went with Keira and Juno, and here we all are waiting for the Muni -

And here's Jasper and the cousins enjoying the view from inside the choo-choo -

Then once we got to the library, what was the first thing we saw? That's right, a Christmas model train display...

As you can imagine, Jasper was entranced (as was Juno, from the look of things.)

And then once we hit the stacks, Jasper immediately found a shelf full of Curious George books - his favorite!

But in the end, it turned out that I was the one who had the most fun. First, picking out books of my own...

And then spending some time at the Everett-sized table reading them...

 Then, we found a special area for little toddlers just like me, with all kinds of hands-on displays to explore and learn from.

I think you can imagine how excited I was when I realized that this rendering of Lombard Street (the second crookedest street in America)...

 ...Was actually a ball maze!

But I spent most of my time at the library enjoying my own current favorite activity - running from Daddy!

California Dreaming

I know. I know. Jasper and I haven't been blogging. But we've just been so busy since we arrived in San Francisco. You can see from Juno's blog some of the action.  But really, I've just been mesmerized by the view of the Bay Bridge near our temporary SF home...

Meanwhile, I think that the California lifestyle may have gone to Jasper's head. Yes, those are Hello Kitty sunglasses.

I promise that we will catch you all up very soon. Until then, Jasper and I just wanted to thank you all for our Christmas presents! I hope all you East Coasters are surviving the Holiday Blizzard of 2010!

A little Christmas dancing for everyone!!

Santa Claus is in town!

Early this morning, Jasper, Juno and I woke each other up (Juno spent the night last night) and quickly got ready for the day. And it was a big day because we were going to take the subway into Manhattan to visit Santa Claus! We had it all planned out. We were going to get there right when it opened around 9am before all the crazy tourists. We walked to the subway station and patiently waited for a R train...and waited...and waited for about 35 minutes before the train finally showed up. We boarded and then sat there on the train at the station when they told us that there was a train with mechanical trouble at the station ahead and that we all had to get off and walk to the next station. So we trekked back upstairs and made our way to the next station where we boarded the 2 train to 34th Street. By the time we arrived at Santaland, it was mobbed. But Jasper and Juno still got a chance to check out Santa's Polar Express.

And they admired all of the toys that Santa and his elves have been busy making all year.

When we finally made it to Santa's door, we were all excited. This year, Jasper was all prepared and knew exactly what he wanted to ask Santa for. He was very brave this year - he sat on his lap and told Santa his Christmas wish in a nice loud, clear voice - a Q train.

Jasper was nice enough to stay with me when it was my turn to sit on Santa's lap. But still, I was a little scared.

By the way, Mommy and Daddy didn't intentionally dress me up like an elf. It just happened that way.

Christmas Cookies!

As loyal readers of the blog know, 'tis the season to be merry and you know what that means - Christmas cookie day! You will remember that last year we were home in Brooklyn and the year before that we were in California. And here is the first year that I got to participate in the Christmas cookie extravaganza. This year, Juno and I both got to help Auntie Tracy make the cookies dough and roll it out.

Later, we also got to help her make frosting...and do some taste testing.

After all the cookies were baked, it was time to decorate. We had lots of different colors of frosting, sprinkles, colored sugar - everything that you could think of!

Beatrice came over to help us decorate all our cookies.

Nazla and Lukie came all the way from New Jersey to help too!

But Juno was too busy eating cookies instead of decorating.

But I think that Yee-Ma had the most fun of everyone decorating. She was nice enough to wait until all of us kids were finished decorating before she took over.

Meanwhile, Everett was busy keeping himself entertained with 4 Yee Pau and 5 Yee Pau...

Look at all our cookies!!

After all that hard work, we sat down for a nice dinner of La Villa to refuel for the next part of the evening - Christmas presents.

I wrote my very first letter to Santa this year. I've been a good boy and a good big brother (or so I keep telling Mommy and Daddy) and I wanted to be sure that Santa knew too. Then I asked for a few things: 1) Play-doh, 2) a 7 choo-choo T-shirt and 3) construction paper. Well, Mommy bought me some construction paper the other day so I crossed that off my list. I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened my first present...

PLAY-DOH!!

Apparently, Everett also wanted Play-doh for Christmas.

I wonder what my next present is...7 choo-choo T-shirt!!

I also got some other really great presents like this Milwaukee baseball shirt from Auntie Tracy and this ice cream set from Mommy and Daddy.
