Baby Baby Baby!

As I think that most of you have read on Juno's Blog, I'm going to be a big brother! Isn't the baby cute? I think that the baby's belly is almost as big as mine already.

I know that there's a burning question that you've all been dying to ask me. "Jasper - Master Blogger - why didn't you break the big news? Why did Juno get the honors?" Well, dear readers, the simple answer is that Juno asked and I said yes. I mean, how can I turn down a 4 month old? She'd just start screaming and crying and, for those of you who know Juno, she can get quite angry. Plus, I realized that I've had all the blog exclusives to date and thought that it would be good journalism training for Juno.

But, being the older cousin and all, I did keep one piece of critical information to myself. Do you want to know if I'm having a little brother or sister? It looks like I'm going to have a little brother! OOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How fun!!!!! Now I will have someone to show all the ropes to, to roughhouse with, play ball with...

I know, it's all very exciting although I'm not quite sure what it all means. I mean, I know that means having a baby like Juno around all the time. Good thing that Juno is coming to visit for a week so I can start getting used to having a little one around. Is he here yet? How much longer??

Choo-Choo Trains!

My favorite thing these days are choo-choo trains (some might say obsessed). I like to call them "choo-choo" for short. Every time we drive by the elevated subway tracks near home, I hope to see a choo-choo passing overhead. So, since Dziadek is in town this weekend, he decided to take me to see the real choo-choo trains at Grand Central Station!

The choo-choos are so big and shiny! Lots of people were boarding the train to head home after a day in the city. I wanted to go on-board too!

We also visited the Transit Museum Annex at Grand Central. I got to see some smaller sized choo-choos and other cool stuff.

Playdate with 5 Yee Pau

This afternoon, I had a playdate with 5 Yee Pau. Since it was sunny and nice outside, I decided that we should go to the playground. I was so excited to be outside that I dragged 5 Yee Pau all around.

First, there was the slide. I'm big enough to go down the slide by myself now.

Then the rocking horse thing. I'm really not sure what it's supposed to be but it's kind of fun to bounce on.

And then there was the balance beam. I like walking on it and pretending to fall off.

Afterwards, we ran around some more, checking out every nook and cranny of the playground. But I think that 5 Yee Pau started to get tired of me. She stuck me in the tire swing to try to contain me and get a little rest. She may have won this round...

Brooklyn Waterfront

Since Mommy is still recovering from her flu, I decided to give her a break this morning and take myself for a walk. I wandered down to Red Hook to hang out by the waterfront. I find it peaceful down by the water.

Potty Time

Guess what? I'm starting to learn to use the potty! I like to sit on it and read sometimes or just to hang out. But lately, I've started to use the potty properly after my bath to take a little tinkle.

I know that this is just the first step but I was so proud of myself that I just had to give myself a hug. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

New Tricks with Babcia

Since Mommy has the flu and Daddy had to work today, Babcia came over to visit and keep my company. As usual, we had lots of fun together running around the house, going to the YMCA and going to the park. Lately, I've also been enjoying listening to music more - particularly Elmo's song. So, Babcia taught me how to use the stereo in my room.

That was the easy part. Picking out the CD was a whole other story...

and a little more dangerous.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope that you all had a great day with family and loved ones. Now that I'm getting older, I feel that I can start to participate in holidays like this. See? I made special Valentine's Day cards for Mommy (I also bought her some special treats from Whimsy & Spice, the yummy yummy confectioners that is run by our neighbors Mark and Jenna)...

and Daddy! I made the cards all by myself.

I also received some valentine's this year too! I didn't know that I had so many admirers. There's Theo, Mommy's friend Carey's daughter:

and, of course, Ciocia Olga who sent me the best SpongeBob Square Pants card!

It came with lots of stickers and I had fun sticking them all over the card. Didn't I do a good job decorating the card? Maybe I should be a designer.

A Taste of Spring

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood yesterday. I think that it was in the 60s! Even though we just came home from Miami, it felt warmer. Maybe it's just because it's been such a long, cold winter and I'm so used to wearing my puff coat, hat and mittens all the time. The best part was that when I went outside, there were balloons outside one of our neighbor's house. BALLOONS!!

Don't balloons just automatically make you feel happy? They are so colorful and fly this way and that in the wind. I just wanted to catch them.

It definitely felt like spring was in the air.

Home Sweet Home

I had lots of fun in Miami, but it's good to be back home, eating dinner at my own table, playing with all my toys and reading my books, and with Snoopy keeping me company again.

I'll look forward to our next vacation, but for now it's home sweet home!

Sun + Sand + Water = Happy Jasper

Ah, blue skies and sun - a beautiful day in Miami.

You know what that means - I finally get to go in the water!

Brrrr - it was chilly in there...

But I still had so much fun spending my last full day in Miami on the beach playing in the sand and surf with Mommy and Daddy - what a great end to our vacation :-)

I sure was pooped by the end of our long, fun day - I think it's time to go home...

Back to the beach

The weather finally improved here in Miami, and it was nice and warm today, so Mommy, Daddy and I headed back to the beach to play in the sand - my favorite! See the clear blue sky?

While I was playing and not paying attention, Daddy, the wiseguy, buried my legs in the sand...

But I'm big and strong now, so a little sand is no match for me!

Nice try, Daddy - you'll have to try harder next time.

Miami Day 2

Well, here we are in Miami. The weather isn't great - a bit cloudy, cool and windy - so there wasn't much beach time today (just a little in the morning). Instead, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Miami Children's Museum. I think that they are trying to get the most out of the Brooklyn Children's Museum membership they bought (we get free admission to certain children's and science museums around the country). You know how Daddy can be frugal sometimes. But I had lots of fun. I tried some new activities like fishing...

and riding a Miami police motorcycle...

and I got to play with a reproduction of a Miro painting.

Afterwards, I ran outside and played on the playground. After all that activities, it was nice to take a quiet rest in the sunshine. It was almost like they made these mini guardrails just for me!
