Skiing in Vermont!

Last week was Winter Break. Usually, we go to California to visit the cousins and to go skiing in Lake Tahoe. This year, we couldn't so we stayed home. Mommy still wanted us to ski so we took a long weekend and went to Vermont! I think that Mommy wanted to show us where she grew up skiing.

We set out on what we thought would be a leisurely drive to Vermont on a Thursday. Instead, it took almost 8 hours to get there thanks so a snow storm and lots of wintery mix. Good thing we didn't have ski school the next day. We had one day to acclimate and play before setting out on the mountain.

Saturday was a beautiful day. Everett and I were both enrolled in full day ski school at Okemo Mountain. While things were mostly the same as in Lake Tahoe, there were some noticeable differences like no gondola and the fact that it was a 40 minute drive to the mountain instead of a few hundred feet walk. Oh well. We still had a great time.

I continued to work on my turns, especially using turns to slow down. I spent most of the day riding the green trails.

I even ran into Mommy in the chair lift line and got to ride up with her for one run.

By the second day, I got to go to the top of the mountain AND I started to learn about parallel skiing! You can't see it from this video. This video is from my first day of skiing.

Everett continues to work on his wedge and on stopping. His teachers told him that he had to learn how to stop before he could advance to the next level. He's almost there!

By the end of the day, we were both wiped out!

Tooth

Well, it seems like Juno would like me to say something about this picture. Do you notice anything missing? I lost one of my top teeth! We were having a BBQ and I was eating a hot dog when all of a sudden I lost my tooth! IN MY HOT DOG! OK, it wasn't exactly stuck in my hot dog but the hot dog made my tooth fall out.

I was quite worried about this. Back in NYC, my tooth was starting to get really wiggly. I asked Mommy and Daddy whether the tooth fairy visits Hawaii. They said they weren't sure. And you know what? She does know where Hawaii is!

If you want to catch up on our Hawaiian adventures, please see Juno's blog.

I'm 4!!

I'm a pretty lucky boy to be able to celebrate my birthday in Hawaii. I woke up to presents from Mommy, Daddy and Jasper - more CARS WITH EYES! We spent the day down at Waikiki beach and then the Honolulu Aquarium visiting my favorite fish - Humunukunukuapua'a! I love them. Capped off the evening with the sunset and a big bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Saying hello to the Humu.

Aloha

It's finally vacation time! We're in Hawaii and enjoying the sun and sand and surf so much so that we wanted to share pictures with you all. I know, it's been a while. The thing is is that if we are going to share pictures, there isn't going to be much commentary. I think that the pictures speak for themselves.

Here are some snapshot from our little home on a lagoon and from our adventures on the North Shore on Tuesday.

Milwaukee in Pictures

So, some people were complaining that we left you hanging and didn't tell you about the rest of our trip to Milwaukee so here it is...in pictures. Enjoy!

We went back to the Children's Museum -

We also discover some new places like the Lynden Sculpture Garden -

And Discovery World where there were lots of fishies for Everett to look at -

We also spent an afternoon at Summerfest to listen to some music, enjoy some arts and crafts and a ride on the skytram.

Of course, we were also there for Mommy's birthday. Mommy specifically requested a birthday pie this year. Apparently, she prefers pie to cake so I planned a beautiful apple pie with Auntie Tracy. Look how it turned out!

ZOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! And Friday Fish Fry. And Custard.

While we are in Milwaukee, we went to the zoo Friday so that I could see fishies and other animals. And we also saw a ginormous polar bear. We went on the zoo train but it had a bit of an accident as we were approaching the station. We had to get off and walk the last bit. What an adventure!

Since it was Friday, we went to have Friday Fish Fry at Lakefront Brewery. Of course, there was polka dancing and bubbles to keep us entertained too. We topped off the night with some custard from Kopp's. I really liked my custard. Can you tell?
