Dinosaurs and Mother's Day

Yes, I know. Before you even start with the "Where have you two boys been? Why haven't you blogged?" blah blah, we've been busy. We needed a break from blogging to live our lives, you know? Sometimes it's good to unplug, especially for two little boys like us. 

So I'm back with a blog post. I don't think that we'll try to catch up on everything that happened the last couple of weeks/months. Maybe if there was something special like this day - Mother's Day! Jasper and I, along with our friends Abby and Henry, planned a very special day for our Mothers. 

Where did we go?

To see dinosaurs of course! Isn't that what all Mommys want to do on Mother's Day? They were life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs. Guess where they lived? New Jersey.

Jasper navigated for us so that we wouldn't get lost in the dinosaur park and become dinner. 

We even saw dragons! Apparently they are related to dinosaurs. After we visited and/or participated in an activity, we got a stamp. For those who know me well, I love stamps and was very excited to fill my passbook with them.

We helped excavate in a fossil pit and color. 

This Triceratops wasn't being very nice. He was screaming and roaring in my ear.

But I did get to pet a baby Hadrosaur.

Hugo's Birthday Party

I went to my buddy Hugo's 3rd birthday party the other day. As some of you may know, Hugo and I became friends because he is Leonie's younger brother, and Jasper and Leonie have been friends since forever.

But do you know what the best part of Hugo's party was? - Jasper wasn't invited! That's right - it was a party for just Hugo's friends, without all the big kids getting in our way, which I thought was a most excellent idea!

And since there weren't any big kids around - like, say, Jasper... I was able to play with blocks all I wanted without anyone interrupting.

And Hugo and I were able to get plenty of quality playtime together without our older siblings interfering...

Then, there was the piñata -

I can assure you it's much easier to get the candy without the big kids hogging it all...

Same with the goodie bags - no worries about running out because sneaky big kids are taking more than one.

And of course, the best part of any party - cupcakes!

And without the big kids around, everyone got to have some extra!

That Hugo sure knows how to throw a party!

Gymnastics @ Naomi's

We recently went to our friend Naomi's (who happens to be the daughter of Mommy's good high school friend's daughter) birthday party, which was held at a great gymnastics center in Brooklyn.

After getting some initial instructions from the coaches...

And watching them do some gymnastics in front of us...

Everett and I couldn't wait to get in on the action...

Of course we stretched first...

And let the birthday girl have her turn... 

Then waited in line patiently for our turn...

But then once our turn did come, we took full advantage of the equipment and the chance to do some real gymnastics...

I think that by the end of the afternoon, we became pretty good little gymnasts, don't you?

Visiting with Leonie and Hugo (and Rafi)

Some of you may remember that Leonie, one of my great friends from preschool, has a house in Southampton, which is not far from Montauk. So of course, while we were on vacation, we had to visit each other for playdates. First, Leoni and Hugo, with whom Everett has been becoming ever greater buddies, came to visit us (Rafi -Leonie and Hugo's youngest brother was also there, but he's still young and camera shy...)

We were having so much fun blowing bubbles that we wound up not taking a whole lot of pictures while Leonie and Hugo were over our place, so reminded Mommy and Daddy to be extra active with the camere when we went to visit Leonie and Hugo's summer house the following week.

Almost as soon as we got there, I started playing "restaurant" with Leonie.

Hugo was stuck playing with us for a while, because Everett decided to be a bit anti-social at first...

But he soon warmed-up and rekindled his friendship with Hugo -

Of course, one of the best parts of going to Leonie's summer house is the big in-ground pool in the backyard. We weren't about to leave without getting good and wet!

Hopefully we'll get to see plenty more of Leonie and Hugo back at home. Leonie goes to the same school as me and Hugo is the same year as Everett in the same preschool - though Leonie is a year ahead of me in 1st grade, and Hugo and Everett are in two different classrooms. Despite those obstacles, we're determined to maintain our friendships - there's nothing better than old friends!

3rd Birthday Party!

Oh boy. What a weekend. I had my 3rd birthday party on Sunday! Wait, what? It's not my birthday yet? I know, but this was the only weekend that K-Ma Tracy could come to visit and if you know anything about anything, K-Ma Tracy is the one who bakes the best birthday cakes. You see, a few weeks ago, I called K-Ma and made a very specific request for my birthday cake - a chocolate Diplodocus dinosaur cake. That's right - Diplodocus.

I invited lots of friends and family to come over and celebrate with me. It was fun to have some of my friends from school over to play. 

Since I'm all about dinosaurs these days, my party had a dinosaur theme - party hats, cake, goody bags, decorations and even a Triceratop pinata! Only thing is that us little people had a bit of a hard time knocking the pinata open.

But once we broke it open, K-Yeh reminded me that I couldn't hoard all the pinata goodies - sharing is caring, after all...

After a bit of lunch, it was time for cake - my chocolate Diplodocus cake! Didn't K-Ma do a nice job? Jasper kindly helped me blow out my candles.

Sadly, everyone had to leave after cake and lunch, and I was beat by that point, so Jasper and I enjoyed a nice nap. As soon as I woke up, though, I made my way directly to my stash of gifts and started tearing them open.
