Hi K-Ma!

K-Ma came to visit me yesterday! It was so nice to see her - it's been a while and boy did I have lots of new tricks to show her. But she had to fly back to Milwaukee today. I'm going to miss her. Good things she's coming back in a couple of weeks for all the Christmas festivities! Bye K-Ma! See you soon!

Early Christmas

So for a variety of reasons, the past week or two has turned into an early Christmas for Jasper in me, as we've received a whole slew of unexpected gifts!

First, Ah-Boo recently returned from a trip to China, and brought a whole load of gifts for both of us from Julie Pau-Pau. Jasper got some great Thomas the Tank Engine outfits, but my favorite was this new winter jacket!
Besides his new Thomas wardrobe from Julie Pau-Pau, Jasper also got a new robe from Ah-Boo (which is a good thing, since he's outgrowing the one he got from Yee-Ma a while back), along with a Thomas rollie bag, which he's been rolling all around the house ever since.

Thanks Julie Pau-Pau and Ah-Boo - we love our new clothes!

Then, since we're going to spend Christmas in California this year, Ciocia Olga, Babcia and Dziadek surprised us with some early gifts on the day after Thanksgiving.  Jasper was really into his new train table, and set about setting it up as soon as he got it...
But I really made out with my very own ball pool!
Look at all these balls!
Apparently Daisy the cat was also in a gift giving mood, so went hunting for one... and brought a real, live bird to the house for us...
Luckily the little birdie was able to get away from Daisy before she "wrapped" it for us, and Dziadek was able to catch it so that we could release it back into the wild (after Jasper had a chance to pat its head, of course.)

Boy, with this kind of excitement a month early, we can't wait for the real Christmas to roll around!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone had a yummy Thanksgiving. We sure did. Mommy and Daddy packed me and Everett up in the car for the ride down to Babcia and Dziadek's house. It's been a little while since we've been there so I couldn't wait. Everett got a chance to get better acquainted with Prababcia.

And he got to sit at the head of the table for dinner. We enjoyed turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and lots and lots of other goodies including pumpkin cheesecake, apple pie and ice cream!

After all that eating yesterday, we spent a good part of the day today at the playground to run it off.

Or swing it off as the case may be.

They added some new elements to the playground which I was excited to check out.

I hope you all had as much fun with your family and friends as we did!

New bed

Guess what? I got a new bed last week! I'm not sure why but Daddy and Mommy thought that I should move out of my big big bed and into something different - and in preparation for one day when Everett would join me in my room. First, we had to go pick out a new mattress...

Hmmm, that's kind of comfy.

But maybe a little too bouncy.

This one is nice and plush. I think we'll go with this one.

And here's my new bed! What do you think? Everett would sleep on the bottom bed once he's bigger. Plus, that means that for now, we have an extra bed in the house so I can have sleep-overs!

And this is where I sleep!

Best brothers, best friends

I know that once in a while I mention some of my best friends from school and other places, but the truth is, I really have just one BEST best friend. His name is Everett.

Since Everett is not only my best friend, but also my little brother, I love to do all kinds of things for him and with him, like teach him to play new games (including, "keep the ball away from the baby")...

Feed him...

And sing and play guitar for him, so he can practice his dance moves...

I can't wait until Everett is a little older so we can start to cause some real trouble together!

First Haircut

You might have noticed in yesterday's post that in addition to walking, I had another first this weekend - my first haircut!

Unfortunately, that part of the weekend did not go nearly as well as the walking...

But never mind that - what do you think of the results?

Ummm, nope, I'm still not happy about this...

So I woke up this morning...

And decided I'd like to start walking today... So I did!

But, boy, these floors sure are slippery - how am I expected to get around the house like this?!

Whoooaa...

It's tricky trying to balance on two feet.

And the answer is...

Did you guess where we were in those pictures yesterday? Come on, any ideas? No, we weren't on Tatooine. We were at Storm King Art Center! Located on 500 acres in the Hudson Valley, it's one of the most amazing sculpture parks and one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite places. However, they haven't been back there since Jasper was born and thought that it was time to go. And just in time too! We happened to go during the last weekend of the season. Here's a picture of Isamu Noguchi's Momo Taro in which Jasper and I were hiding out in yesterday's post.

Storm King's permanent sculpture collection dates from 1945 to the present and includes some pretty important 20th century artists. Like Mark di Suvero's Pyramidian in the background and Beethoven's Quartet in the foreground.

I was pointing out all the pieces that I liked.

Here's Darrell Petit's Kiss (no, not Pettitte)...

Andy Goldsworthy's Storm King Wall - it goes right into the water and back out the other side!

Roy Lichtenstein's Mermaid...

And Maya Lin's Storm King Wavefield.

Mommy gave me a lift so that I could get a better look at the wavefield. It was pretty cool.

After all the walking around, Jasper was tired. And me too. We decided to take a little rest on the rocks.

But Daddy had a better idea - hitch a ride on the Storm King Tram!

We rode around for a while and then got out to play in the grass. I think that Mommy was trying to take a picture for our Christmas card but Jasper had other things in mind...
