Monday night dinner

On most nights, Mommy, Daddy and I have dinner together. But on Monday nights Mommy takes a class, so it's just me and Daddy at dinner.

On most nights, when Mommy is here, we eat vegetables and other healthy food. But not when it's just Daddy and me. Daddy has a different idea of "healthy vegetables"...

Mmm, mmm... McDonald's french fries - my new favorite vegetable!

There are other perks to having dinner with just Daddy - like being able to use a knife on my own.

And best of all, pants are optional at the dinner table!

Maybe you should take another class, Mommy? ;-)

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

It was a nice afternoon - a little bit overcast but at least not raining like the weather man said it would be. Daddy took me for a choo-choo ride and we went for a walk along the Brooklyn Heights promenade. I ran up and down and played around on the playground and slide. After all that running around, it was time to take a break, have some snacks and enjoy the view.

Extra Long Choo-Choo

Guess who was waiting for me when I got home from tumbling class this morning? BABCIA! I haven't seen Babcia since my birthday so I was very excited to see her. Since there was lots of commotion at my birthday party, I didn't get to open Babcia's birthday gift so I got to open it today. She got me an extra long alphabet choo-choo!

Look how long it is! It was quite a challenge to make the choo-choo chug all the way from the living room to my bedroom but somehow I managed. Thanks Babcia!

Bridal Shower

Mommy and I went to Phyllis Biu Yee's bridal shower today. She's getting married in May and we were all there to celebrate with her and prepare her for her journey into marriage. I was the only boy in attendance...

At first, I was a little shy and kept to myself eating my apples, grapes and crackers...

But then one of the other guests tried to entice me to come play.

Sadly, we couldn't stay too long because it was getting late and we had to drive all the way home to Brooklyn before my bedtime. Bye Bye Phyllis Biu Yee! Congratulations!! Bye Bye Tiffy Biu Yee! Thank you for the fun party and all the yummy food. I don't think I'll be hungry for dinner.

Happy Birthday Beatrice!!

Today was Beatrice's 2nd birthday! Happy Birthday Beatrice! To celebrate, she invited us all over for a breakfast get-together. It was lots of fun with tons of food, drinks and flowers to make everything look spring-y for the first day of Spring (even though it snowed this morning).

I got to see lots of old friends and hang out. Except that the boys were into wrestling each other amongst all the shoes.

That wasn't really my idea of fun on a Friday morning so I hung out with all the girls.

But really, I just wanted to help Beatrice open all her birthday presents. Since my birthday was just a couple of weeks ago, I was well practiced in unwrapping gifts.

Then it was time for cupcakes! Everyone seemed to be enjoying the red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles. I went around the kitchen and inspected everyone's cupcake as they were eating them. They looked delicious so I asked Mommy if I could have one too. She prepared me my own special cupcake which was yummy. Little did I know at the time that it was really a quarter of a bagel and cream cheese with some sprinkles on top. I think that Mommy pulled a fast one over on me! That doesn't mean that I didn't gobble down my bagel cupcake!

Space Aliens!

The strangest thing happened today! I woke up this morning and Daddy came to get me in my room as usual... Since the park across the street from our home is getting redone, Daddy always puts me up on the window in the morning so I can watch the construction going on... Well guess what - this morning when I looked out the window, I saw our car parked on the sidewalk!

Yes, that's right - it was on the SIDEWALK! It had been parked neatly by the curb for the past few days as it always is, so it was quite a shock to see it like this first thing in the morning:

Of course Daddy and I assumed that someone must have hit our car at night while we were sleeping - it would have had to have been a great force to jump the car over the curb and so far onto the sidewalk. But when we ran downstairs to check the damage, there was none!

That's right, the car was completely undamaged - front, side or back. So how in the world did it get on the sidewalk in the middle of the night???

Daddy thinks that Mommy must have gone off sleepwalking in the middle of the night and drove the car onto the sidewalk then... but I think that space aliens did it!

What do you think?

JELL-O

Mommy gave me something a little bizarre for dessert tonight. Instead of the usual assortment of fruit that I enjoy, she set this bizarre red cup in front of me. What is it?? It jiggles and feels kind of squishy.

It's JELL-O and I'm supposed to eat it? OK, here goes...

Feels a little funny in my mouth.

No. Let's just put that bite back where it came from and cover it up and pretend none of this ever happened.

What do you do with your JELL-O? Wiggle it? Jiggle it? Shake it? Eat it?

Big shoes to fill

I was trying to fill some big shoes the other day...

And I mean that very literally!

Metropolitan Museum Of Art

Dziadek came to visit this weekend, and since I haven't visited an art museum lately, took me to the Metropolitan Museum Of Art. What fun! I got to see all kinds of art.

We stopped by the ancient Chinese galleries...

And I really liked the armory exhibit - what big horses!

But my favorite was throwing pennies into the wishing fountain. Can you guess what I wished for?

Of course, all that walking around the museum and admiring art makes for a tired Jasper, and you know what happens when I get tired...

Thanks for a great trip to the museum, Dziadek!

Happy Birthday Amira!

Today was Amira's 2nd birthday! I went to her birthday party to help her celebrate since she was so nice enough to come to my birthday party last weekend. Doesn't she look pretty in her birthday dress?

I didn't get to stay very long at the party because I had to get home to nap. But we shared a few quiet moments together. Happy Birthday Amira!!

Getting ready for little brother

I know it's still a long time until my little brother comes, but I'm getting so excited that I decided to start practicing already.

Luckily, Ciocia Olga got me a Baby Elmo for my birthday - so I decided to start by sharing my pacifier, which I have grown so attached to. I hope baby brother likes it as much as me and Elmo!

Then, for extra practice, I put one of my diapers on Bunny.

Pretty good job, don't you think?

While I'm ready to share my pacifier and diapers with my little brother, though, I'm not ready to share my bed yet...

That's where I draw the line!
