Skiing in Vermont!

Last week was Winter Break. Usually, we go to California to visit the cousins and to go skiing in Lake Tahoe. This year, we couldn't so we stayed home. Mommy still wanted us to ski so we took a long weekend and went to Vermont! I think that Mommy wanted to show us where she grew up skiing.

We set out on what we thought would be a leisurely drive to Vermont on a Thursday. Instead, it took almost 8 hours to get there thanks so a snow storm and lots of wintery mix. Good thing we didn't have ski school the next day. We had one day to acclimate and play before setting out on the mountain.

Saturday was a beautiful day. Everett and I were both enrolled in full day ski school at Okemo Mountain. While things were mostly the same as in Lake Tahoe, there were some noticeable differences like no gondola and the fact that it was a 40 minute drive to the mountain instead of a few hundred feet walk. Oh well. We still had a great time.

I continued to work on my turns, especially using turns to slow down. I spent most of the day riding the green trails.

I even ran into Mommy in the chair lift line and got to ride up with her for one run.

By the second day, I got to go to the top of the mountain AND I started to learn about parallel skiing! You can't see it from this video. This video is from my first day of skiing.

Everett continues to work on his wedge and on stopping. His teachers told him that he had to learn how to stop before he could advance to the next level. He's almost there!

By the end of the day, we were both wiped out!
