Dinosaurs and Coufou

No, Coufou is not a dinosaur silly. Coufou took me to see the dinosaurs at the American Museum of Natural History! We was in town for a quick visit for work and while Jasper had a birthday party to attend, I was free all morning. So we took the subway all the way to the Upper West Side to visit the museum. Apparently, it's one of Coufou's favorites.

Happy Father's Day

I know that this is over a month late but Happy Father's Day! This is how we celebrated with Daddy - we took him to the zoo! Nice, right?

Dinosaurs and Mother's Day

Yes, I know. Before you even start with the "Where have you two boys been? Why haven't you blogged?" blah blah, we've been busy. We needed a break from blogging to live our lives, you know? Sometimes it's good to unplug, especially for two little boys like us. 

So I'm back with a blog post. I don't think that we'll try to catch up on everything that happened the last couple of weeks/months. Maybe if there was something special like this day - Mother's Day! Jasper and I, along with our friends Abby and Henry, planned a very special day for our Mothers. 

Where did we go?

To see dinosaurs of course! Isn't that what all Mommys want to do on Mother's Day? They were life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs. Guess where they lived? New Jersey.

Jasper navigated for us so that we wouldn't get lost in the dinosaur park and become dinner. 

We even saw dragons! Apparently they are related to dinosaurs. After we visited and/or participated in an activity, we got a stamp. For those who know me well, I love stamps and was very excited to fill my passbook with them.

We helped excavate in a fossil pit and color. 

This Triceratops wasn't being very nice. He was screaming and roaring in my ear.

But I did get to pet a baby Hadrosaur.

Adventurous Saturday

This morning, when we woke up, Mommy and Daddy said that we were going on an adventure but they wouldn't tell us where. They said it was a surprise. Jasper and I didn't like that very much but we played along and got in the car. We drove and drove for what felt like forever until we finally pulled over and found a parking space in Manhattan. We walked about a block or two and then went inside a building and up and elevator. We walked down the hall and knocked on the door. 

Guess who answered?

AH-BOO!!!

We were at Ah-Boo's apartment in Manhattan! Her tenants have moved out and she's come and clean up the apartment a bit. Jasper has been to the apartment before so he figured it out once we got to the building but this was my first time visiting. Plenty of room to play with my new car Fabrizio!

It was just a quick visit since we have to go grocery shopping and get home in time for nap. But the trip down the elevator took a little bit longer than we expected. As we were going down, all of a sudden the elevator stopped moving! We were STUCK! Since we didn't know how long we would be stuck, we settled in and had some snacks.

The elevator started moving again (on its own!) and brought us all the way up to the Penthouse then back down to the 30th floor where the doors opened. We quickly got out and called another elevator. PHEW! That was quite an adventure!

Ah-Boo came over later in the afternoon and we played a little and went out to eat dinner at our favorite restaurant!

Oh! And we totally forgot to post this picture but a few weeks ago, Dai Cou-Kung and Dai-Cou-Pau came to visit from Hong Kong! It was so nice to see them and play with them! Come visit again soon!

Paint-a-Pot or two (or three)

Ever since Everett, Juno and I indulged our artistic side over the holidays, Everett and I have wanted to continue to flex our artistic muscle. But, if you know Mommy, she doesn't like us undertaking any messy art projects at home. She prefers those types of activities to take place elsewhere...or at Yee-Ma's house.

So, over the weekend, she took us on a special trip to a special place on the Upper West Side - Auntie Alison's house! From there, we walked a few blocks to an arts and crafts haven where you could not only paint pots but also make candles, soap, necklaces, bracelets and decorate cakes. We spent quite a bit of time there painting and creating.

After all that artwork, we had a lovely pizza lunch with Auntie Alison, Josephine Pau-Pau and Desmond Kung-Kung before heading back to Brooklyn.

New York Transit Museum - sans Jasper

As you all know, Jasper and I love doing things together, and in particular, on weekends we love doing family activities with Mommy and Daddy as well. But last weekend was a little different - first, on Saturday, I had a playdate with my friend Nia from school, so while Mommy stayed home with me, Nia and her Mommy, Daddy went out grocery shopping with Jasper (so that Jasper wouldn't bother me and Nia...)

Then, on Sunday, Jasper had to go to his friend Leo's birthday party, and Mommy took him. In the meanwhile, Daddy took me to the New York Transit Museum. Not only did I feel like I totally made out since I got to go to the transit museum with Daddy while Jasper had to go food shopping with him the day before, but I think this was the very first time I had gone to the transit museum without Jasper (and you all know how he feels about choo-choos... so we kept this our little secret and didn't tell Jasper...)

Anyway, while at first I thought that going to the museum without Jasper might be boring, it turned out to be great, since I got to do everything on my own, without having to jockey for a turn. I carried rocks in a wheelbarrow...

Learned all about electricity at the museum's current exhibit...

Learned all about the internal combustion engine...

And about how it makes the bus' wheels go...

I filled the bus up with gas...

And of course took it for a test drive...

Of course no visit to the transit museum would be complete without checking out the choo-choos, and I checked out them all...

At the end, I tried out some of the old-style wooden turnstiles used in the subways during the last century...

They were so heavy I even had to put my cheek into it...

But as Jasper can attest from his many visits to the transit museum, the best part may have been the ride home on a real bus, especially since Daddy made this an extra special outing and let me enjoy a special cookie treat...

Yum - that was a fun and delicious afternoon!
