Future Cardinal?

Oh, hi! Sorry, we kind of forgot about the blog. We've been having so much fun with our crazy cousins! As Juno told you, we went to Yee Yee-Pau's house and had another Chinese New Year dinner. But before we got there, we have an adventure further down the Peninsula in the Bay Area. I visited my first college - Stanford. Mommy and Daddy figure that given my rate of learning, I should be off to college in just a few short years.

While we were waiting for Keira and Audrey to meet us, Everett and I hung out with the Burghers of Calais and then decided to run around the quad and make funny faces at the camera.

Once they got there, we took the elevator up to the top of Hoover Tower to inspect the campus and figure out where we wanted to go. Mommy and Coufou pointed out some buildings to us and the dorms they used to live in. They kept saying how much the campus had changed.

We pretty much ran around most of the main campus - checking out the sculptures and fountains and, um, causing a bit of a ruckus. Mommy, Daddy and Coufou has a hard time keeping up with us! We did stop to have lunch at the Coffee House, apparently one of Mommy's favorite spots on campus.

Then, it was finally time to leave. We were exhausted! We had one last walk across the Oval and then off to our cars and to Yee Yee-Pau's house.

What do you think? Future Cardinal?

Skiing!

Phew! It's been a busy week. As you may have seen from Juno's blog, we've been busy taking over Northstar, hitting the slopes, hot tubbin' and skiing some more!

As you can see from Juno's pictures and videos, we all loved skiing. I actually took my first official lessons! Two days of them!!

Since I'm just a beginner, I had to stay towards the bottom part of the mountain. The main thing that I was working on was how to ski in a straight line. The first video is from my first day of lessons. The second video is from my second day of lessons. I'm getting better!

Then I got to ride the gondola up and explore mid-mountain with Daddy.

And look who we found!

Mommy was nice enough to give me a lift.

After a long day of skiing and a dip in the hot tub, we settled back into the condo for story time. And since Jasper can now read, he was the storyteller!

And apparently, he had a few more s'mores with Yee-Ma, Uncle James and Juno. Where was I?

"I do it myself"

Since I'm 2.5 years old now, I don't always want everybody helping me with everything, and my favorite phrase has become, "No! I do it myself!" And then, this is what I do -

And this -

Well, OK, maybe sometimes I don't do it all myself - but everyone needs a little help from time to time, no?

Bye Bye San Francisco. Hello New York.

Like Juno said on her blog, there was so much cousinly love during our trip out west. We really did have a lot of fun. But, yesterday morning, we had to pack up all of our things and fly home to New York. Bye bye San Francisco...

Bye Bye Sierra Nevada mountains and Lake Tahoe...

{Interlude: A few hours on the plane}

Hello New York City!

Thanks Keira, Juno, Zachary, Coufou, Couma, Yee-Ma and Ah-Boo!

Snow Tubing

Well, our week vacation in Lake Tahoe has come to an end. We packed up the car this morning and started to head home. Or so Everett, Juno and I thought but then Daddy pulled off the highway just past Donner Summit. He pulled into a place called Soda Springs. Why were we here? Mommy, Daddy and Yee-Ma bundled us all up in the our snow gear and then put us on a wagon. Everett and Juno don't look so pleased.

After a short little ride, we arrived at "Planet Kids." What? We saw some groomed trails and lots of colorful inner tubes. Mommy and Yee-Ma said it was just like sledding. We each grabbed an innertube and headed up the magic carpet.

We each got into our tube and off we went. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

As you can imagine, we went up and down this hill quite a few times. That is until I eyed this...a giant snow mountain. When a little boy and a little girl see a mountain of snow, what do you expect them to do? Climb it.

After climbing up and sliding down a few times, it was time for a snack.

And then, we saw this...a tube carousel. You all know how Everett and I feel about carousels. Apparently Juno feels the same way because we loved it. We rode around and around and around, each riding a different colored tube each time.

And then, shortly after getting into the car, this was the scene in the back seat. It was a good morning.

Cousins!

As you may know, one of the biggest reasons we try to visit San Francisco at least once, and if we can, twice a year, is to spend time with our first cousins, all three of whom live there - Keira, Juno and Zachary. Our current trip has been extra special because we've been getting to spend extra time with our cousins at Yee-Ma's ski house in Lake Tahoe.

We've all been having a great time, just hanging out together...

Eating together...

Getting rides together...

Having treats together...

(Hey, is frozen yogurt a good idea in freezing temperatures?)

Watching a bit of YouTube together...

Ice skating together...

(OK, OK, Keira and Juno are the only ones who have gone for the ice skating so far, but Jasper and I were with them in spirit - while our bodies were comfortably ensconced by the nearby toasty fire pits...)

Even baby Zachary enjoyed getting in on some of the action...

Whew, it's been a lot of cousin time, and sometimes two brothers just need a little time to themselves...

Not to mention me needing a little relaxation time to myself...

(Me and BB the bear, that is...)
