Wheat'd you say?

What? Did I hear someone say "wheat"? What a coincidence, because today I had my second wheat challenge. As you may be aware, I've been allergic to wheat since I was born, and some time ago I had a wheat challenge that I failed (a "wheat challenge", or any food challenge, is when you eat a food that you are allergic to in a medically supervised facility so that if you have a reaction, medical help is readily available...)
The last time I had a wheat challenge, I threw up almost as soon as I started eating some whole wheat bread. But some time has passed since then, and as well, Daddy has "accidentally" fed me wheat ingredients on more than one occasion, with no ill effects. So we thought that now would be a good time to give it another try.
And so this afternoon Daddy and I headed off to the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. This time, we tried the challenge with wheat oyster crackers. I wasn't so sure about tasting them at first, much less eating them...
But before long, I warmed up to them, and considering that I was instructed to skip lunch so that other foods would not interfere with my challenge, I was quite hungry. So, the wheat crackers were going down quite easily...
So easily, than before I knew it, I had downed a full adult serving - 14 crackers! Then, it was time to wait to see if there would be a reaction. A two hour wait, to be exact. And what exactly does a 2.5 year old boy do for two hours in a hospital-like setting? Well, if his name is Everett, he plays many rounds of Zingo with Daddy...
Completes a US states map puzzle all by himself...
And of course saves a little time for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...

I won't be needing them anymore!
I don't know who's more excited - me and Mommy about my accomplishment, or Daddy about saving the money...

Here's what's been going on with me at school the past couple of months!
I hope Daddy feels he's getting his money's worth, because I sure am!

Mommy and Daddy recently downloaded the lastest batch of pictures from the past couple of months at my school that my teacher shared with all the parents - and for some reason, all Daddy could exclaim was "I'm paying HOW MUCH tuition for THIS?!"
But Daddy, I love it there!
