We're having so much fun this Summer, and don't even want to think about the fact that it's late August and it will have to end soon. We've taken so many trips, seen so many friends and spent so much quality time with family. We're now enjoying a week of "Dziadek and Babcia camp" in New Jersey, which will be followed by an almost two week family vacation with just Mommy, Daddy and us in a "country house" we rented in upstate New York for the last bit of Summer.
But after that, it will be time for school. We're not really complaining - we both love school! And the extra bonus this year will be that I will join Jasper at the school where he's been going for the past two years (I was too young last year, so had to go to "baby daycare", as Jasper called it, but no more!) We'll be in two different classrooms, of course, but we'll still likely see each other during recess and outings to "the big yard" where kids from all the classrooms often meet.
As you may remember from last year and the year before, there is a tradition at Jasper's (and now my) school, where your next year's teacher comes over to your house during the Summer to meet you and introduce herself, and spend a little time playing and maybe reading a story out loud.
Jasper of course is an old hand at this, and couldn't wait to meet his new teacher, Marina. They look like they're going to have a lot of fun together, don't they?
For me, this was a new experience, and like with all things new, I proceeded cautiously. But before long, I too warmed up to my new teacher, Rosalba. She was very, very nice, which we actually knew she would be, since a lot of our neighbor kids have been in her class during years past, and their parents have been telling Mommy and Daddy how wonderful Rosalba is all along.
Even though we still have plenty of Summer and vacation left, we're now also really looking forward to getting back to school and getting to know Marina and Rosalba even better!
