FINALLY!!! Jasper and I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to do our Advent calendar. December 1st arrived and there was no calendar. December 2nd arrived and there was still no calendar. For two little boys who like routine and schedules, this was a problem.
Where was the advent calendar you ask? At Babcia and Dziadek's house. Daddy thought it would be a smart idea to "store" our holiday stuff in New Jersey, except that he forgot that it was there. As a result, we didn't bring out decorations home with us after Thanksgiving. Thankfully, Dziadek made a special trip to bring everything to us.
This year, we have two advent calendars. First, we have Mommy's calendar from when she was a little girl. We love this one because we get to put a new ornament on the Christmas tree every day. We show Mommy where we want to put the ornament and she pins it for us. Jasper and I have decided on a pattern so that we each get to have a turn every other day. We've even allocated two days to Juno when she is here to visit later this month. Isn't that nice of us?
The second calendar we received as a Christmas gift last year so this is the first year that we're using it - a Star Wars Lego advent calendar!! Luckily, Dee Biu Coufou was over last week and he showed us how to put everything together. Now, every day, we get to assemble a small Lego figurine or space craft.
Afterwards, I arrange everything carefully on the TV stand.
